The Kansas City Wind Symphony is a volunteer ensemble of professional and accomplished amateur musicians selected by competitive audition. Musicians come from throughout the Kansas City region to perform in the organization dedicated to the study and performance of classic band works and transcriptions of orchestral masterworks in a concert setting.






Below are highlights of the first half of our 20th anniversary season. All concerts are FREE, begin at 7:00 PM, and take place at Village Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kansas. Two outreach concerts will also be presented this season, at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas: Saturday, October 7, 2017 and Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM. October 8, 7:00 PM Our season premiere will feature some of the most notable works in the wind ensemble repertoire, including George Washington Bridge, Irish Tune from County Derry and Lincolnshire Posy.

November 12, 7:00 PM Kansas City Wind Symphony Conductor Emeritus, Dr. Phil Posey, will return to the podium to conduct pieces featuring Village Church’s new pipe organ, played by Dr. Elisa Bickers.
